M.A.D.E was designed as a digital, interactive, sensory and immersive experience. It also has as a digital platform for national conversations. Collaborations with other organisations – from cultural to private sector to philanthropic - are a central strategic priority. M.A.D.E is seen as a digital innovation centre, covering education, public programs, content generation and delivery.

Eureka 160 was a five month program of events and then the launch of a new responsive website and mobile app using iBeacons. Projects were as diverse as a living history project to re-create the stitching of the Eureka Flag; a Minecraft competition for 18 years olds and under to build Stockades in 3D; a YouTube competition to tell a favourite story about Eureka; commissioning of a new song to then be recorded and put in the exhibition space. New video content has been created for the interactive touch tables covering aspects of the history often ignored – indigenous, women and chinese.
