Tour 4: Australian Institute of Archaeology

Monday, October 05, 2015: 10:00am - 2:00pm

The Australian Institute of Archaeology (http://www.aiarch.org.au/) was founded in 1946 as an organisation to facilitate and monitor the scientific study of the ancient world of the biblical narrative. To assist in this process the Institute has a significant archaeological library and a noteworthy museum collection comprising Near Eastern artefacts and replicas.

Participants in the tour will be able to examine the library and artefact collection together with the instruments and procedures used to reconstruct fragmentary artefacts and those used to produce 2D and virtual 3D images of artefacts.

Space is limited to 15 people. Please contact Bronwyn Loxton bloxton@museum.vic.gov.au to secure your place by 9.00 am Wednesday 16 September.
